SIOM concluded Tattv 09
The theme of Tattv’09 “Desire... Drive... Inspire... from Slowdown to Touchdown” aimed at unleashing the power of Desire to excel in this time of crisis, to Drive our thoughts and actions towards success and to Inspire everyone to work towards building a green organization encompassing business ethics which would become a benchmark for one and all to emulate. Mr. Pradeep Lokhande, founder of Rural Relations, the special invitee for the inauguration took the audience on a journey towards the backbone of the nation – the rural India. Other distinguished speakers of the two day event included Mr. J.K.Ghai (NPCIL), Mr. P.K.Johri (ONGC), Mr. B.Ravikumar (Venture Infotek), Mr. Ravi Krishnamurthy (SBI Life), Mr. Kiran Atmakuru (Deloitte Consulting), Mr. R.P.Dubey (Exergy Consortium), Mr. Tansen Chaudhari (Xchanging group), Mr. Abhijit Chaudhuri (Ispat Industries), Ms. Indira Parikh (Flame Institute), Mr. Vikas Bhatia (Infinitum Solutions), Mr. Sudhir Sohoni (Thermax) and Mr. Ravi Kodukula (Patni Computers) who talked on various topics ranging from ‘Sustainable Finance’, ‘Sustainable production and consumption’ to ‘sustainable employment’.
Mr. Venkatesh Chandrashekaran (Aerospace Division, CII), Mr. H.T. Mehta (Larsen & Toubro), Mr. Aswatha Nagendra (Logistics Consulting Asia) and Mr. Vijay Sati (Hindware) expressed their thoughts on “Operations: Changing Dynamics” on the second day of the event. Various aspects of supply chain management (SCM) that were discussed during the forum include implementation of SCM in eco-systems, value stream mapping, Six Sigma, CPFR, shared warehouses and distribution centres, the challenges posed by supply chains, building Strategic Sourcing Capability. Other speakers Mr. Madhav Kulkarni (BSA Group), Mr. Manjunatha K.G. (Aghreni Technologies), Mr. Raghu Khanna (CASHurDRIVE) and Ms. Rashmi Bansal (JAM) shared the dais for the theme “Harnessing the Power of SME’s & Start-Ups” and the topics spoken on included challenges in scalability and globalization for start-ups and bootstrapping.
The concluding session of the event had Mr. Yatindranath (Lenovo), Mr. Arindham Ganguli (Sigma Research & Consulting), Mr. Rahul Kulkarni (Siemens) and Mr. Puneet Garkhel (M&M Group) speak on the topic “Changing Customers, Changing Mindsets, Changing Behaviours: Challenges for Organizations”.
The valedictory session was glistened by Dr.Vandana Sonwaney’s address to the SIOM students and her praise for their undaunted effort with many sleepless nights to make this event a success as ever. The event convenor Mr.V.Balaji also expressed his appreciation for the team of students, faculty members and the sponsors.
