Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) |
| SIFE(Students in Free Enterprise) is a non-profit global organization that is literally changing the world through highly dedicated student teams on more than 2000 colleges and universities in 50 countries. SIFE was started in 1975 and has its Head Quarters in Springfield, USA. Students are guided by distinguished faculty to evolve many concepts through educational outreach projects, including market economics, personal skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business ethics, to better themselves, their communities and their countries. |
SIFE@SIOM "Changing lives by Instilling Hope"
SIFE was introduced to Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM) in November, 2009 and this year SIFE SIOM has undertaken some projects where the students could apply their academic knowledge to build a better community for a better tomorrow.
SIFE SIOM team under financial literacy program sponsored by HSBC is aiming at providing financial aid to the inhabitants of Nashik and suburbs, most of them being unprivileged tribes sustaining with minimum financial resources. Lack of financial literacy is one of the main reasons for poor financial management. We aim to create self dependency among the tribal population, student and other people for improving their standard of living and to encourage small scale entrepreneurs.
